How to disassemble the clutch of the Audi A4

Today we will see how to remove the clutch on an Audi A4 model b8 vehicle. Before performing the clutch removal and lifting the car, we must disconnect the battery; we open the trunk and remove the carpet to access the battery compartment and disconnect the negative terminal and the positive terminal, interrupting the current. We remove the front right and left tires and lift the vehicle on a scaffold. We remove the lower cover of the vehicle and using a combination wrench, we unscrew the nuts on the plastic axle protections. Then, using a key with extension and a 10mm insert, we remove the bolts of the left axle in order to remove it. We follow the same steps for the removal of the right axle. We continue the work by removing the exhaust pipe of the muffler, to perform this operation we must unscrew the three nuts on the top of the pipe, using a monkey wrench and then a socket wrench in case they are rusty. After unscrewing the two nuts in the middle, we disconnect and remove the pipe. We disconnect the steering axle box by unscrewing the nut using a 10mm XZN key and slide the part, disconnect the exhaust support using a 13mm key and exerting slight pressure towards the outside with a crowbar. We continue by unscrewing the clutch disc piston and pushing the disc. Being careful not to damage the connectors, we disconnect the electrical connectors located on the catalytic converter, on the flywheel, on the gearbox, and on the gearbox support. Some connectors are locked by nuts, so it is necessary to use a 10mm key. To create more space for action, we remove the gearbox support, unscrewing the screws with a drill with a 10mm tip. Removing the gearbox is perhaps the most complex operation because the first bolts to be unscrewed are not easy to reach. We use a 13mm key to unscrew the bolts and disconnect the levers. After disconnecting all the gearbox levers, we disconnect the catalytic converter pressure sensor. Using a 16mm key, we unscrew the flywheel pins from the starter disc and the gearbox pins while using an 18mm key, we unscrew the gearbox pins on the left side. We remove the upper gearbox pin and proceed with the removal of the catalytic converter probe. After removing the air filter box, using a key with extension inserted from the top of the vehicle, we remove the three pins that lock the starter motor. We then remove the entire gearbox block to unscrew the clutch and access the clutch. We then remove the clutch shaft. By bringing the shaft to a work surface, we can check its condition by removing the central nut.
