How do you activate and deactivate the passenger airbag in an Audi A3/S3?

There are cases where it is necessary to deactivate the passenger airbag for safety reasons, for example if you need to install a rear-facing child seat on the passenger seat. To do this, look for the control on the side of the dashboard, passenger side; you will find a lock with the airbag icon.

Use the car key to turn it to OFF. On the dashboard, you will see a light confirming the deactivation. When the seat is no longer needed, remember to reactivate it by turning the key to ON because the airbag is essential for adult safety.
