Video tutorial

In this video we will see how to replace the alternator of an Audi A4 B8 version: we open the front hood and remove the engine cover. We also open the rear hood and lift the floor panel, in order to disconnect the negative pole of the battery, which is located under the spare wheel.

We go back to the engine compartment and remove the air intake pipe, moving it aside. We remove the upper cover of the timing belt; we remove the auxiliary belt from the alternator pulley, and disconnect the wiring connector from the alternator itself; disconnect the positive cable from the alternator terminal, then unscrew and remove the lower and upper bolts, then lift the alternator from its bracket and remove it. We can find the new piece for example on E-Bay with the code 276827482051 at the price of 250.02 euros, free delivery (always compare carefully the compatibility of the piece with our car). Now we follow the instructions in reverse to position the piece in its place.
