To replace the thermostat on an Audi A4, open the hood to access the rear of the engine block. The thermostat is located at the back of the engine block and needs to be removed from its housing by disconnecting it from the appropriate hoses.

Once the old thermostat is removed, you can install a new one: it should be connected to the appropriate hoses at the back of the engine block. Finally, start the car to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
