Wear of the high-pressure pump lifter is a common issue in first-generation FSI engines due to its thin design. It appears that modifications have been made in later generation engines, and similar updates can be applied to older engines. In any case, replacement lifters are readily available in the aftermarket at a reasonable price (Ref. 06D 109 309D).
Replacing the lifter is straightforward. Disconnect the connectors from the high-pressure pump, remove the piping, and unscrew the three Torx bolts that secure the pump to the engine. Once the pump is removed, take out the old lifter and insert the new one.

How to Replace the Diesel Filter on a Dacia Duster
Let's see how to replace the diesel filter on a Dacia Duster. Start by removing the plastic cover at the bottom of the bumper with a suitable screwdriver (remove the circle), then reach the front headlamp located in the bumper (as shown in the video). After removing the container, take out the filter inside and fit a new one (same size). Refit the container and the plastic cover under the car's bumper with the attached clips. Test the proper functioning. Refit the front circle with the securing clips and lower the car. by ScegliAuto More videos
