Audi A4 - Video tutorial

Model: Audi A4 B6 - Years 2000-2004
Part: Shock absorbers
Operation: Replacement of front shock absorbers

In order to replace the front shock absorbers, it is first of all essential to have the appropriate clamps that allow the spring to be compacted and therefore to be able to disassemble the shock absorber support; then start by lifting the car on a lift and removing the front wheel; continue with the disassembly of the tie rod end of the steering box and those of the swinging arm of the upper suspension; at this point remove the pin fixing the shock absorber to the lower swinging arm and then move on to the engine compartment and unscrew the nuts that secure the support plate to the bodywork dome; once the shock absorber has been removed from its seat, apply the clamps to the spring to compact it and disassemble the support, also removing the bellows to be applied to the new shock absorber, proceeding backwards for installation.

Let's see in this short and simple guide the instructions that will allow us to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Polo. First of all we open the front door, on the driver's side, and start pulling the opening lever of the engine hood, in order to open the lock; then let's move to the front of the vehicle and unhook the tab that we find on the central part, above the manufacturer's emblem, as shown in the video. At this point we block the bonnet with the lateral rod; then we accompany the bonnet down to close it again!
