Audi A4 - Video tutorial

Model: Audi A4 B6 - Years 2000-2004
Part: Shock absorbers
Operation: How to replace the front shock absorbers

Here is the procedure for replacing the front shock absorbers of an Audi A4. After removing the front wheel it is necessary, with a 16 mm and a 13 mm pocket, to unscrew and extract the pins of the arm. Use an antioxidant spray to make this easier. With a ratchet wrench remove the suspension bolts and raise the arm. Now it is necessary to move to the upper area of the car, in the engine compartment: open the hood and remove the rubber gasket and the engine protection cover. We are on the right side of the car. With a 16 mm pocket remove the three bolts from the top of the suspension. Carry out the same operation on the left side as well but first remove the radiator tank. Remove the entire suspension assembly and scrape off the encrustations with a wire brush. With the shock absorber remover, tighten the spring, extract the exhausted shock absorber and replace it with a new one. Also replace the spring and rubber boot. As a last step, refit the new suspension.
