Key replacement and remote reprogramming on an Audi TT Mk1

After replacing the key, we now need to reprogram the remote control. We insert the non-functioning key into the ignition and turn it two clicks so that the dashboard lights up. We insert the functioning key into the driver's door lock, turn it to the lock position, and then turn it again to activate the process. We will hear the doors unlock. Now press the ignition button on the remote control inserted in the car. The dashboard lights will start flashing, if it doesn't work, repeat several times. Press the unlock button on this remote control: the lights should light up again and the locks should unlock. Turn off the car and remove the keys from the ignition. Now everything should work, but sometimes it may take multiple attempts and the process may need to be repeated.
