To reset the "Service" light on a BMW X3, follow these steps: turn on the instrument cluster without starting the engine by using the Start/Stop button. Once the cluster is on, use the buttons on the steering wheel to access the onboard computer menu.

Navigate through the menu until you find the "Settings" section and select the "Maintenance" option. Inside this menu, you will find various entries related to maintenance intervals, such as oil change or general inspection.

Select the interval you want to reset and follow the instructions on the display to complete the reset. Hold the confirmation button until the "Service" light goes off, indicating that the system has been successfully updated.

After the reset, the light should not turn back on until the next scheduled maintenance interval.
