How to Remove the Steering Wheel of a BMW 3 Series with Airbag

Learn how to remove the steering wheel of a BMW 3 Series with the airbag. Before removing the steering wheel, disconnect the battery power cables. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws around the steering wheel cover, then remove the airbag by unscrewing the screws located at the back of the steering wheel. Once the airbag is removed, disconnect the power cables. Now, use a socket wrench to remove the central steering wheel retaining bolt, and disconnect the power connectors. Pull the steering wheel off with your hands after marking the position of the retaining bolt with a marker (this helps during reassembly). To reassemble, proceed in reverse order.
