How to reset the "Service" indicator on a BMW X1?

To reset the "Service" light on a BMW X1, start by turning on the instrument panel without starting the engine. Once on, locate the button positioned under the instrument panel, usually on the left or center side. This button is essential to access the onboard menu and proceed with the reset. Hold down the button until a special maintenance menu appears. When the menu appears on the display, use the same button to navigate through the various options until you find the one related to service intervals or maintenance. When you reach the correct option, press and hold the button again for a few seconds to start the reset process. The system will ask you to confirm the reset of the service interval, and to do so, you will need to continue holding down the button until you see the reset confirmation. Once the reset is complete, the "Service" light will turn off, indicating that the new maintenance interval has been recorded. After performing this procedure, turn off and turn on the instrument panel to verify that the light is actually deactivated. If it remains on, repeat the procedure carefully.
