Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006

Obtain replacement bearings. Lift the vehicle, secure it, and remove the wheel. Remove the metal cover protecting the retaining bolt on the hub, which will then need to be unscrewed. If you encounter difficulties, use penetrating spray. Disassemble the entire brake assembly to free the axle. Free the half-shaft by unscrewing the bolts at the base of the driveshaft and remove it. Also, remove the sway bar. Use a puller to remove the rotor to access the bearing. Remove the bearing's retaining ring and use a puller to free the bearing. Clean thoroughly from old grease. Then, place the new bearing inside after properly greasing it. Using a piece of wood, tap with a hammer to fit the bearing perfectly into its seat. Reassemble all parts that were previously removed.
