Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006

Obtain replacement bearings. A faulty bearing can also compromise the axle, so replace it immediately. Lift the vehicle, secure it, and remove the wheel. Remove the metal cover protecting the retaining bolt on the hub, which will then be unscrewed. If you encounter difficulties, use penetrating spray. Disassemble the entire brake assembly to free the drive shaft and remove the rotor to access the bearing. Use a proper puller to remove the cover and free the bearing that needs to be removed. Take off the retaining ring of the bearing and use another puller to remove it from its seat. Clean thoroughly from the old grease. Then, position the new bearing inside after greasing it well. Using the proper tool, tap with a hammer to ensure the bearing fits perfectly in its seat. Tighten the nut with a torque wrench, then reassemble all the components previously disassembled.
