First, perform this check with the engine cold to avoid any unpleasant issues. Open the hood and ensure it is securely supported.

Locate the cap of the coolant reservoir: it is at the front, near the bend of the hose connecting the intake to the air filter housing. Open the cap and check that the float rod extends from the cap; if not, top up with coolant (or water) until the float rises; then screw the cap back on.
