In order to reset the onboard computer of the BMW 3 Series after replacing the battery, you will first need to connect and secure the new battery in its housing: this will be located on the right side of the trunk. After installing the device, you will need to connect a diagnostic tool to the vehicle's OBD port: this will be located under the steering column.
