How to replace the key fob battery on BMW 3 Series? Let's see how to do it: take your key fob and slide the button to release the metal key. Then, use a screwdriver to pry between the key cover and the plastic cap. Pry until the cap lifts off the cover, then remove the dead battery with a screwdriver and take a new one of the same size and voltage. Reattach the cap to the key fob until you hear it click into place. Finally, insert the metal key back into the fob.
