How to extract and replace the battery of the key fob for a BMW 3 Series? Let's see in this detailed video how to do it. Take your key fob and use a screwdriver to pry between the two halves of the key cover; pry until the two parts of the cover separate: extract the worn battery with a screwdriver, take a new one of the same size and voltage. Reassemble the cap on the key fob cover until you hear it click into place. Check the proper functioning of the key fob by testing the door lock and unlock buttons.
