Universal method for changing the headlight glass.

In this video, we see how to replace the polycarbonate glass of the headlight of a BMW 2 Series F45, but it is a valid system for all cars, if the headlight body is intact (so there are no cracks in the attachments or in the shell); the internal parts, such as projectors and adjustments, work properly, and the cost of the glass (which in this case costs 100 euros on AliExpress compared to 1,000 euros for a new headlight in BMW) is advantageous. The broken glass is removed with a heat gun, without melting the plastic; it must be worked on in small sections and removed carefully, to avoid damaging the edge. We remove the glue residues with a cutter and clean the interior, without using aggressive solvents on the chrome surfaces. We mount the new glass by applying windshield sealant to the edge; we align the guides of the new glass with the pins of the headlight, then fix it with the original clips and let it dry. It is a job that can be done alone but it is not an easy job; precision and a minimum of equipment are needed.
