How to replace the SOS battery of a BMW E90

Let's see how to replace the SOS battery in a BMW Series 3 E90: this is a safety component, a lithium battery that we will purchase identical to the old one, checking the code on the one to be replaced. The SOS module is located above the interior rearview mirror and is held in place by clips. We gently pry with a thin screwdriver in the gap between the mirror cover and the windshield; we will see the module, from which we will disconnect the electrical connectors. The module is housed in a smaller box. We open it to access the battery, which is flat and rectangular, similar to those in old phones, with a two-wire connector that we will disconnect. We install the new battery and reconnect the connector. We can find the battery on AliExpress under the code 1005008472370516 for the price of 7.99 euros + 5.35 euros for shipping. We put everything back inside the windshield and close it up.
