Video tutorial

Today, we will see how to replace the air filter on a BMW X7. The air filter can be purchased online or at auto parts stores for about $15. The replacement takes less than 5 minutes and can be done independently; to perform the operation, remove the trunk carpet cover and pull out the cover of the box that contains the filter.

Release the clips that secure the cover and remove the worn filter.

Insert the new filter inside, close the cover, replace the carpet, and reassemble the side carpet. After closing the trunk, start the vehicle to test that the filter has been installed correctly; otherwise, a warning light will illuminate on the dashboard.
