How to Lower the Rear Seats of a BMW 3 Series

On some BMW 3 Series models, the mechanism to lower the rear seats is not located at the top of the seatback, but in the trunk. Open the rear hatch and look for two levers hidden at the top, one on each side. Pull each lever outward: this will release the seatback. At this point, manually push the seats forward to fold them down. If the front seats are too far back, move them slightly to create space. The cargo area will be significantly expanded, useful for transporting long items. For reinstallation, lift the seatbacks and push them firmly until you hear the locking click. Ensure that the latches are securely engaged for safety. If your car has a pass-through in the center armrest, you can use it for long items without folding down the seats.
