Replacing the key battery on a BMW 3 Series. Let's see how to do the replacement. Take your remote and slide the button to release the metal key. Once extracted, use the same key (screwdriver) to pry open the key cover. Pry until the two pieces separate from the cover; extract the battery with a screwdriver, and replace it with a new one (same size and voltage). Reassemble the plastic over the key remote cover until you hear the locking click. Insert the metal key back into the remote. Check the remote's proper functioning.
