Operation: How to mount cameras on the car

The video shows the procedure for installing some cameras on a BMW X5. Gently remove the reflective plate of the mirror with the help of a screwdriver and plastic spatula, disconnect the connection. Unscrew the screws and also remove the plastic frame. Screw the camera support into the mirror body and then fix the body in a vice (first cover the vice with protective tape) and with a 6.5 mm diameter drill drill the body using the hole in the camera support as a reference . Remove the support and take the camera. Measure the diameter of the objective and with a hole diameter measurer choose the tip with which you are going to drill the body. Remove the remnants of the puncture and also remove the pieces of plastic inside the holder. Insert the camera into the support and screw everything to the body. Now remove the door panel and disconnect all connections; remove the inner window frame as well. Disconnect the mirror connection and remove the arm that supports it. Now install the wiring through the mirror housing. Drill the point indicated in the image with an 8 mm bit (depending on the model you have) and pass the camera cable through it. Drill the cable support with a 7 mm bit and pass the cable through it; now insert the cable support into the 8 mm hole previously made. Collect the colored ends of the cable in the scart then refit the mirror arm. Hang up the mirror connection and connect the new scart of the camera. The extension of the harness will pass inside the rubber channel of the door. Reassemble the mirror in all its parts and then refit the door panel. The second part of the video explains how to mount the camera in the area of the front plate. Insert the camera to the support arm, screw it to it and cover it with its cover. Screw the latter to the support as well. Remove the front plate then, with the help of a measuring pendulum, trace the drilling points for the installation of the support with a felt-tip pen. Connect the wiring, drill the marked points and mount the support. Lastly, refit the license plate. To extend the wiring cable, proceed from the engine area on the passenger side. In the last part of the video, a camera is mounted in the trunk area: remove the small cover near the trunk handle, open the trunk, unscrew the screws that support the internal panel and remove it. Mount the camera to its support and insert everything in the compartment you discovered in the first operation. Connect the wiring and refit the internal trunk panel.
