Removing the Rear Wiper Motor on a BMW 1 Series

This guide shows how to replace the rear wiper motor on a BMW 1 Series. Unscrew the fastening nut of the wiper arm; remove it from the tailgate. Lift the rear tailgate, and remove the plastic cover panel using levers. Once the cover panel is removed, you can proceed to disassemble the rear wiper motor. Unscrew the fastening bolts of the motor located on either side. Remove the motor from the tailgate metalwork; disconnect the power connector. Install the new rear wiper motor.
