Instructions for Replacing the Water Pump

Model: BMW Serie 3 E36 - Years 1990-2001

The water pump is located at the front of the engine: open the hood and ensure it is securely supported. Remove the plastic engine cover and the small covers to access the water pump drive pulley: disconnect the auxiliary belt by loosening the tensioner, remove the water pump drive pulley, and then unscrew the fastening bolts of the pump itself. Pull out the old pump and replace it with the new one, tightening the respective fastening bolts and those of the drive pulley. Reattach the auxiliary belt and reinstall everything that was previously removed.
