Replacing Air Filter on BMW 3 Series E46

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006

Lift the hood and look at the compartment on your right (facing the cabin) near the left front headlight: this is the housing containing the air filter. Open the two side metal clips and the two black clips that secure the compartment, using a screwdriver as leverage. It's that simple! Remove the cover of the compartment by disconnecting it from the rear air duct, and you will be right in front of the air filter. Clean the compartment with an air compressor, insert the new filter in the correct direction, and close everything up. As you can see, there are no screws to remove and reattach, making the task particularly easy.
