Replacing the air filter on a BMW 3 Series? Open the hood and let's see how to replace the filter. Locate the air filter housing on the right side of the engine compartment.

Remove the screws on the side of the air filter housing, open the air kit, lift the cover off the filter box, and remove the worn air filter (disconnect the air hose). Insert a new filter into the designated slot (making sure it fits snugly against the walls).

Reattach the cover of the air box and tighten the screws on the side. Close the hood after reconnecting the air hose (tighten the clamp).
