Third brake light replacement on BMW 5 Series

Model: BMW Serie 5 E39 - Years 1995-2003

Open the boot lid and remove the lid underneath the third brake light bulb (therefore inside the sky). To detach the hatch just pull it with your hands. Slightly rotate the bulb holder and pull it, so that it will come out of its seat. Similarly, turn slightly (counterclockwise) and pull the bulb out of the holder. Insert the new bulb well and tighten it slightly until it stops (not even a quarter of a turn). Insert the holder and the bulb in their compartment and make sure they stay still. Refit the door.

Lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands, remove the front wheels, and then the front bumper and grille. Proceed to remove the front headlights; drain the coolant, remove the intercooler radiator and the hoses connecting it to the intake system. Position the new intercooler radiator in the grille, temporarily securing it with cable ties, and mark with a marker the part of the metal that needs to be removed to allow the new hoses to pass through. Cut the marked portion of metal and apply a gasket to the edge.
