Replacing Cabin Air Filter on BMW X1

To replace the cabin air filter, you need to access it from outside the cabin, so first, lift the hood. Unscrew the six 8 mm (or 5/16 inch) bolts that secure the cover of the pollen filter compartment located near the windshield. Remove the cover, and voilà! Here is the cabin air filter! Open the clips that hold it in place and pull it out. Similarly, insert the new filter in the correct orientation and close the clips. Reinstall and re-screw the cover, and you're done. As you can see, this is a task that anyone can handle.
