When you perform the replacement of fluids and filters necessary for scheduled maintenance on your BMW G30 5 Series Diesel, you need to reset the counter on the instrument cluster, which indicates the miles to be driven until the next service. To do this: press the "START" button, use the button on the lower left of the dial to display all messages until you see only the total miles driven. At this point, release and press the button again; a pop-up will appear saying "engine oil - reset available". Release and press the same button again, and you will see the message "perform the reset?" Hold it down until you see the message "reset completed" on the instrument cluster.
