In this very short video you can clearly see the procedure for trying to reset the gearbox of your BMW X5 E70. The author clearly states that this is an attempt to try and fix any gearbox problems yourself. If this does not work, you will obviously have to go to a workshop to solve any mechanical problem. The unlocking procedure is very simple: insert the key and, without pressing any pedal, press the ignition button once to switch on the instrument panel. At this point, keep the accelerator pedal pressed all the way down for at least 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, release the pedal, press the power button again and remove the key. Try to start it and you should have solved it.
