How to Test the Camshaft Sensor on a BMW 3 Series?

Model: BMW Serie 3 E91, E90, E92 - Years 2005-2013

To test the camshaft sensor on a BMW 3 Series, completely remove the front part of the car by taking off the bumper for easier access to the engine. The camshaft sensor is located at the front of the engine. To test it, start the engine by turning the key. Now, locate the ground wire in the connector and the Y sensor wire: by connecting a voltmeter to these two wires, you should read a potential difference of about 12 V. If the voltmeter shows the expected result, it means the sensor is functioning correctly.
