How to Change Engine Oil in a Car

Model: BMW Serie 5 E39 - Years 1995-2003

To start this operation, wear protective clothing. Then, unscrew the oil cap located on the engine head and remove the dipstick to check the oil level. Removing the cap and dipstick helps the oil drain out. You need to empty the oil pan by unscrewing the plug at the bottom and letting the oil flow into a container. While the oil is draining, you can remove the paper filter located inside a paper holder, assembled with the engine block. In addition to this operation, you can also remove the air filter at the same time. Once these operations are completed, you can add new oil, but before doing so, make sure to screw in the plug that closes the oil pan. After that, pour the oil through the opening on the engine head, insert the dipstick to check the level, and screw the cap back on.
