To change the battery in a BMW 3 Series key fob or other models with that fob, start by removing the metal key by pressing the button on the bottom of the back (where the buttons are not located). After removing the metal key, lift the cover using a small screwdriver or your hands.

To remove the battery, use a small screwdriver to pry it upward. Take the new battery out of the package and insert it in place of the old battery, then reattach the cover and reinsert the metal key. Finally, test the new battery.
