Opening the Engine Control Unit Container

Model: BMW Serie 3 E90, E92, E91 - Years 2005-2013

The container (ECU BOX) for the engine control unit is located in the engine compartment, on the passenger side, just below the windshield. Along the edges of the box are locks that ensure a watertight seal in addition to closure: to open it, you need to unlock the two locks located along the front and rear edges (the symbol of an open or closed padlock is stamped next to them to indicate the correct position for the lock); on the side edges, there are anchors that detach by pulling them upward: once all closures are opened, you can remove the cover.
