How to Check Your Car's Alternator

The electricity that comes from the battery is produced by a device that converts the mechanical energy of the engine into electrical energy. This device is called the alternator. One method to check if the problem is with the alternator is to open the hood and disconnect one of the battery terminals. If the engine shuts off, the problem is undoubtedly the alternator. You can also use a voltmeter to measure the battery voltage, which may not be able to power the alternator. If the value is less than 12.2 volts, this could be the reason for the alternator not functioning.
