To adjust the handbrake on a BMW 3 Series, lift the leather cover that surrounds the handbrake lever to access the components underneath. Here, you will find a screw connected to a cable, which in turn is connected to the handbrake lever: by adjusting this screw, you can modify the tension of the handbrake. Tightening the screw will make the lever stiffer; conversely, loosening it will make the handbrake lever softer. After the adjustment is complete, reposition the handbrake cover.
