Replacing the Coolant Drain Plug Gasket
Model: BMW Serie 5
E39
- Years 1995-2003
Changing a gasket is a straightforward task, but the challenge lies in accessing it. As shown in the images, start by removing the hose and the air filter cover. Disconnect the various sensor connectors. Now, move on to disconnect the connectors of the ignition coils. Note that on the driver’s side, the connector for the eighth cylinder is separate. Next, remove the nuts and disconnect the entire injector connector box on both sides. Once the wiring is removed, you can begin unscrewing the intake manifold. During this type of work, it is good practice to also replace the oil separator shown in the images. This is a good opportunity to check the injectors as well. At this point, you should remove the water pump, but to save time, you can take off the hoses and then proceed to remove the lower cover. Notice the coolant leak that accumulates in the corner, coming from the hole and exiting at the front of the engine. The gasket is actually a strip of black silicone that you can reproduce as a replacement for the original with specific products available on the market. Allow a few minutes to pass and reinstall the cover. Replace all hoses and reattach the pipes as shown in the images. Reinstall the intake manifold, the injector connector box, and all the other wiring you disassembled earlier. Now, all you need to do is add coolant and check for any leaks.

How to Replace the Engine Air Filter on a Volkswagen Polo
Remove the engine air filter from a Volkswagen Polo: open the car door, pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard and lift the front bonnet, securing it with the prop rod. Remove the engine soundproofing panel (if necessary), then open the air box (unscrew the securing screws), remove the cover of the filter box and take out the engine air filter. Insert a new filter into the dedicated housing (ensuring it fits snugly around the edges). Finally, refit the air box cover and tighten the screws. Close the front bonnet after maintenance. by ScegliAuto More videos
