How do you replace the gear knob on the BMW Z4?

Model: BMW Z4 E85, E86 - Years 2002-2008

In order to replace the gear knob of the BMW Z4 you have to go and grab the knob while holding the leather cap underneath firmly. The two parts are not directly connected, therefore it will be necessary to pull the knob upwards so that it is removed from the top of the gear lever and detached from the boot. Once the old knob has been removed, it will be possible to insert a new spare part: the latter must be positioned on the final part of the lever, so that it fits. Finally, it will be necessary to verify that the piece works correctly.
