To replace the exhaust manifold on a BMW 5 Series, open the hood and access the front of the engine compartment, where the manifold is located. You will need to remove it from the front of the engine by loosening its mounting bolts and disconnecting its connectors.

Once the bolts are removed, you can take off the retaining ring that connects the manifold to the exhaust pipe, completely removing the manifold. After it is removed, you can install a new replacement part and connect it to the engine and the exhaust pipe.
