GPS Module Disassembly Instructions

Model: BMW X5 E53 - Years 1999-2006

The GPS module of the navigation system is located in the rear trunk, on the side, beneath the carpeted trim panel: once you remove the panel, you can access the entertainment system modules (CD changer, GPS module) which are secured to a support system with metal tabs. To release the GPS module, you need special extraction keys that, when inserted into the designated holes on the sides of the module, allow the tabs to retract, thus freeing the module from the support. If you do not have these keys, you can use a hex key or a screwdriver as long as they have the appropriate diameter.
