Video tutorial
This tutorial illustrates the procedure for removing the airbag from the steering wheel of a BMW 7 Series. In this case, the steering wheel has already been removed. Use a star screwdriver to release the springs that hold the front part of the steering wheel where the airbag is inserted. Once opened, you will see the airbag housing (both sides are shown) and the two springs that support the airbag. Both poles of its electrical connection are then shown. Finally, there is a focus on the buttons on the steering wheel: if you want to remove them, you need to unscrew the four mounting screws with a star screwdriver.
