How to Replace the Key Fob Battery on a BMW X1?

To replace the key fob battery on a BMW X1, activate the switch located on the side of the fob to detach the key and the corresponding chrome cover on the top. Once these two pieces are removed, pry inside the key slot to open the fob and access the battery. After removing the old battery, insert the new one into its housing, reassemble the two halves of the fob, and insert the key back into the top.
