How to Change the Key Fob Battery of a BMW X1

This brief video tutorial shows how to replace the battery (CR2032) in the key fob of a second-generation BMW X1, produced from 2015 to 2022. First, extract the physical emergency key by pressing the release button. Next, insert the extracted key into the designated slot at the bottom of the remote and start to turn it to apply pressure on the back cover and remove it. Once the back cover is removed, you will see the old battery that needs to be replaced, so replace it with a new one and close everything up.
