The engine cover is secured with spring clips: the cover itself has four circular buttons, and you simply need to press each one to release the cover's fastening and remove it. To reattach, align the cover perfectly and press down to engage the clips.

This is a rather unique solution since covers are generally either bolted on or secured with rubber clips that can dampen vibrations and reduce noise.
