Ignition Coil Removal Instructions

Model: BMW Serie 7 MK 3, E38 - Years 1994-2001

The ignition coils are integrated with the spark plug boots. To remove them, first take off the plastic cover on top of the engine (just press on the clips to release it). Then, proceed to remove the spark plug well cover by unscrewing the corresponding mounting screws. Next, disconnect the safety latch of the connector attached to the ignition coil, unscrew the mounting bolts of the coil, and pull it out along with the boot. Then, reverse the process for installation by inserting the boot until it locks onto the spark plug, securing the coil with the corresponding bolts, and finally reconnecting the connector.
