Instructions for Removing the Automatic Transmission Assembly

Model: BMW Serie 7 MK 3, E38 - Years 1994-2001

If you need to disconnect the automatic transmission from the engine and the assembly has already been removed from the vehicle, things become easier since there is enough maneuvering space to work comfortably; first, remove the four pins that secure the flywheel to the automatic transmission bell housing: in front of the transmission, there is an access window through which you can reach the pins, and you will need to rotate the engine crankshaft pulley to access each of the four pins; after this, proceed to remove the outer pins along the perimeter of the transmission bell housing to complete the disassembly.
