How to Adjust the Handbrake on a BMW 3 Series 320d

This guide will show the procedure for adjusting or repairing the handbrake on the BMW 3 Series 320d. To carry out this procedure, follow these steps: 1. Lift the car with a jack or preferably with proper lifts; 2. Remove the bolts from the rear wheels and then the rear wheels using a 17mm wrench; 3. Remove the brake shoes and calipers; 4. Remove the brake discs gently using a hammer; 5. Once the rear brake discs are completely removed, check that the adjuster controlling the opening and closing of the shoes is stuck or has anomalies and repair or replace it if necessary; 6. Clean the surface of the brake track and reassemble everything in reverse order of the steps; 7. Finally, apply the brake a few times to adjust the caliper and check the operation of the handbrake.
