Replacement of the Fuel Filter

Model: BMW Serie 3 E36 - Years 1990-2001

The fuel filter is a component that needs to be replaced regularly. To proceed with this operation, wear safety glasses and rubber gloves. The necessary tools are: new replacement filter, hose clamps, screwdriver, ratchet wrench, and wire cutters.
The first step is to remove the fuse related to the fuel pump to cut power during the replacement work. Raise the vehicle and secure it, then remove the protective cover of the filter by taking off the relevant bolts. Place a plastic sheet in the work area to catch any gasoline that may spill. The filter is secured with a front and a rear bracket that need to be removed to allow the hose clamps to be taken off that hold it to the fuel line. Once the clamps are removed, take out the filter, allowing the gasoline inside to drain into a container. Install the new filter, paying attention to the flow direction indicated by an arrow on the filter itself. Reinstall a new protective cover.
