Hydraulic pistons operate based on oil pressure, moving the brake pads closer or further from the rotor. This guide shows the equipment and procedures for the care and maintenance of hydraulic pistons.

Hydraulic pistons at rest are supported within the brake housing, allowing the pads to remain well spaced. The movement and function of the pistons are not always perfect.

To proceed, you will need an Allen wrench to secure the brake housing to the frame and a cloth with spray to clean and lubricate the pistons.
